The holiday home "Gammelgården" in high location with really extended view of the surrounding can be found in a typical Småland farm environment, as you perhaps know from the descriptions by Astrid Lindren.
It consists of a combined living and sleeping area, a kitchen corner, a bedroom as well as modern WC and shower.
A rowing boat can be rented on-site for only 50 SEK (about 6 EUR) per use and makes you flexible to get on to the Småland pike, or you can explore the watercourses of the lakes around you by canoe.
The surrounding is characterized by an open scenery, like a mosaic, and includes old cultural environment with beautiful, varied hiking trails. Here nature offers a varying fauna with animals of the same species like red deer, roe deer, elk as well as wild boar. From the near ornithological tower you will have a good chance, to observe examples for the most different bird species.
Västervik, the skerry town at the Baltic Sea, is about 15 kilometers away from the holiday home and offers a rich programme concerning culture and experiences/events. For example, there are boat tours every day to the skerries, one can play golf, listen to concerts or marvel at local craftsmen.
Of course, as a second recommendation for an day trip the „World of Astrid Lindgren“ should be mentioned, which is at Vimmerby.
Smaller groups or several families, who are good friends, can spend their holidays here together, by booking the second holiday home, which is also placed at the farmstead, in
